Healthy Foods to Support Colon Health

Food choices can play a helpful role in overall colon health. We've created a general list of nutrient-rich foods many experts commonly include in healthy eating patterns.


Fruits

  • Berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)

  • Apples and pears (with skin if tolerated)

  • Citrus (oranges, grapefruit)

  • Bananas

  • Grapes

  • Melons (watermelon, cantaloupe)

  • Kiwi

  • Avocado


Vegetables

  • Leafy greens (spinach, kale, collards)

  • Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage)

  • Orange veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, squash)

  • Tomatoes and bell peppers

  • Onions and garlic


Whole grains (fiber-rich)
